How Plans For Healing's services, specialties, and practical information were organized into a single, calm website structure.
Plans For Healing is the private practice of Sarah Edmunds, a licensed psychotherapist with more than 25 years of experience and a certified life coach. The practice serves adults working through trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, and major life changes such as divorce and career transitions — all through virtual teletherapy, across the United States.
The website needed to present several parts of the practice without making them compete for attention. Therapy and life coaching required separate sections. The main specialties each needed a page of their own. Alongside that, the site had to answer practical questions about telehealth, insurance, scheduling, and appointments — for desktop and mobile visitors alike.
Individual Therapy and Health and Lifestyle Coaching serve different purposes. Folding both into one broad description would have left visitors to work out the distinction themselves. The same problem applied to the practice's specialties — Anxiety and Depression, PTSD and Trauma Recovery, Grief and Loss, and Divorce Contemplation each called for enough space to explain the subject on its own terms.
Practical information had to be just as easy to find. Someone researching the practice might be looking for a specialty. Another visitor might want to know whether telehealth or insurance applies. Someone else might already be ready to book. The site needed a structure that could hold all three without turning the homepage into a long list of unrelated sections.
Individual Therapy and Health and Lifestyle Coaching were given their own areas within Services, rather than one shared description.
Four pages — Anxiety and Depression, PTSD and Trauma Recovery, Grief and Loss, Divorce Contemplation — instead of short summaries on one page.
Booking through the website, plus regular hours and how to request appointments outside them.
In-network status with Cigna and CareFirst BCBS, alongside out-of-network benefits.
A fifth priority sat outside the grid: Sarah's professional background. Education, licenses, and more than 25 years of experience were placed together in the About section — a clear place to learn about the person behind the practice.
The main navigation was built around About, Services, Specialties, FAQ, Blog, and Contact. About, Services, and Specialties each hold a dropdown menu for their related pages — keeping the top navigation manageable while giving individual services and specialties a direct place within the site.
The structure mirrors the different ways someone might approach the site. Go straight to Specialties with a particular concern. Start with Services when comparing the practice's main offerings. Practical matters — insurance, appointments, hours — are handled through the FAQ. The homepage stops carrying the full weight of the site's information; it introduces the practice and points visitors toward the section that answers their specific question.
About, Services, and Specialties each carry a dropdown — the rest stay flat.
Sarah's professional information lives in one location: educational background, licenses, and more than 25 years of experience, presented alongside how the practice operates. Telehealth is explained here too — how virtual sessions work and what clients need to take part — so visitors can learn about Sarah and the practice before moving into individual services.
Two main areas: Individual Therapy, covering mental health treatment including anxiety and depression, and Health and Lifestyle Coaching, focused on practical life changes, personal goals, and related support. Keeping them separate lets each be described on its own page, in its own context, rather than asking one page to explain two different kinds of support.
Four dedicated pages — Anxiety and Depression, PTSD and Trauma Recovery, Grief and Loss, and Divorce Contemplation — give each subject room to be explained in detail, and give visitors who arrive with a specific concern a direct place to land. Structurally, they sit beneath the main Specialties section, keeping them grouped while preserving their individual purpose.
Booking access was built into the main navigation rather than being limited to the Contact page, and it also appears on key service and specialty pages — so a visitor who just finished reading about a service doesn't have to backtrack to the homepage. Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 10am to 6pm EST, with information on requesting appointments outside those hours.
Virtual appointments are central to how the practice operates, so this needed to be easy to locate. The About and FAQ sections explain the private, secure, HIPAA-compliant video technology in use and what clients need for a session — presented alongside the rest of the practice details, rather than buried inside a service description.
The FAQ handles practical questions that don't belong inside individual service descriptions — insurance, including Cigna and CareFirst BCBS and out-of-network benefits, along with location, hours, and appointment procedures. This gives the site a dedicated place for logistics, leaving service and specialty pages focused on their subjects.
Client testimonials appear on the homepage as part of the site's introduction, giving visitors access to feedback while reviewing the broader picture of the practice — without needing a dedicated spot in the navigation.
A separate publishing area for future educational material related to the practice and its areas of focus. Keeping it apart from the core service pages means new articles can be added without altering the primary information architecture.
On smaller screens, the navigation adjusts to the available space, page layouts change to suit narrower displays, and interactive elements are sized for touch. The same core sections stay available without asking mobile visitors to work through a desktop layout. The footer provides another consistent access point for contact information, social links, Privacy Policy, and Terms and Conditions.
Supporting pages were organized around what visitors need while researching the practice or preparing to book. The FAQ handles insurance, scheduling, hours, location, and appointment procedures. Contact provides a direct way to reach the practice, with the same information repeated in the footer.
Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions carry the site's standard legal information, and the Blog gives the practice a dedicated area for future educational articles — keeping new material separate from the core pages, with no need to restructure the site whenever an article is added.
Individual Therapy and Health and Lifestyle Coaching each have their own place within the site. Anxiety and Depression, PTSD and Trauma Recovery, Grief and Loss, and Divorce Contemplation have dedicated pages rather than being compressed into a single specialty section.
Telehealth in About and FAQ. Insurance and scheduling in FAQ. Appointment access from the main navigation and relevant pages.
The Blog section lets the practice add educational material over time without changing the main navigation or service structure.
The finished site was built for desktop and mobile devices from the outset, not adapted afterward.
Creative Design 360 delivered a website that brings Sarah Edmunds's professional background into a dedicated About section, separates therapy and coaching, gives the four main specialty areas individual pages, and places telehealth, insurance, and scheduling information where visitors can actually find it.
The completed website provides a central place to research the practice, review its services and specialties, find answers to common practical questions, and access appointment scheduling.
